Our Journey

AcoustoFab was founded on a bold vision: to revolutionise how industries handle materials with unmatched precision and care. Emerging from blue-sky research and driven by a deep curiosity, our UK-based team of PhDs uncovered the untapped power of ultrasound for contact-free manipulation. From the beginning, we’ve pushed the boundaries of what’s possible—creating the world’s first acoustic tractor beam and achieving real-time control for high-speed, mid-air manipulation of liquids and solids.

Our journey hasn’t been without challenges; many said it was impossible to levitate objects using 40kHz transducer arrays or to achieve POV (persistence of vision) displays with ultrasonic technology. But we’ve proven otherwise, turning each “impossible” into a milestone and paving the way for cleaner, more efficient automation processes.

With a full-stack approach—from hardware design to end-use applications—our technology provides flexibility across diverse industries, including lab automation, holographic displays, and agritech.

At AcoustoFab, we believe that true innovation supports a sustainable future. Our solutions, like energy-efficient sorting and contact-free handling, reduce waste and enhance quality. Through partnerships with like-minded companies, we’re reshaping automation and redefining sustainability—one sound wave at a time.
